Our Facilities

It's Time to Look around

The Facilities you choose will obviously reflect what you are going to use the centre for and the number of people that will be attending.

Our Main Hall

The Main Hall is a very large room that is used for a wide variety of activities and like all ground floor amenities it is easily accessed by those in wheelchairs or who have problems walking. The Hall has recently been improved with the upgrade of our heating system, insulation and the installation of new lights to make the space even more welcoming for users. Hiring the Hall allows you to use the table and chairs shown in the pictures above for the duration of your hire period. All we ask is that at the end of your booking you ensure they are returned to the places they came from. The main hall can be set out in a formal or informal manner to suit the atmosphere you are trying to create.

We are very aware of our neighbours and to ensure we do not cause them any inconvenience or disturbance we ask all hirers to keep noise levels as low as possible before, during and after the event and similarly to ensure we keep the area clean and tidy we ask that all rubbish resulting from the event is bagged up and taken home for disposal.

Our Kitchen

The Kitchen is fitted with all of the equipment you would expect to find in a kitchen and can be used to provide hot meals for up to seventy people. Being sited adjacent to the Main Hall the large serving hatch makes it easy to dish up and serve plated meals, making sure that the food reaches the tables hot. Food for buffets can also be produced in our kitchen prior to an event or private party making it very convenient for users. The kitchen can also be used for the purpose of preparing and cooking with the food produced being consumed off site.

St Paul's Room

The St Pauls Room is situated on the upper floor of the centre and can only be accessed by using stairs making it unsuitable for those in wheelchairs or with difficulty walking. The room is however easily organised  to facilitate the users preferred layout with movable tables and chairs that can be placed in the most suitable location for the hirers needs. However we expect that at the end of the session the tables and chairs are moved back to their original positions for the next user. Currently the room is used for a number of educational, recreational and research activities.

Small Meeting Rooms

We have two small meeting rooms on the ground floor that can be easily accessed by all, including disabled users of the centre. They can be used for private meetings or for small groups to meet or to share a common hobby or activity. The room which is now set out as an office will be furnished to give maximum support for the activities of the hirer.

Community Services

The centre, with the help of others who donate books and jigsaws, provides a free book and jigsaw swap facility. This is is very well used by older centre users, providing stimulating activities that they can use in their own time, in their own home.
